Mindfulness

mindful drinking

Mindfulness helps mental wellbeing. Becoming more aware of the present moment. It helps you to be aware of why and how much alcohol you drink. This creates a healthier relationship with alcohol and less consumption. To practise mindful drinking, observe and appreciate things around you, no matter how trivial they are. Acknowledge your senses, notice anything you can see, touch, smell, taste and hear. Pause before each new drink, pay close attention to the Mandala design on our copper toned aluminium bottle and the exclusive taste of Coconut Flower Beer.

Mandala Art Therapy

Mandalas have long been used as tools for meditation, mindfulness and healing. Mandalas are a great way to relax, calm your mind, and exercise creative skills.

Mandala HELPS WITH BALANCE, IT BRINGS PEACE AND TRANQUILITY, AND SIMPLY GAZING AT IT WILL GIVE YOU A FEELING OF CALM.

We collaborated with a young talented mandala artist, Wardi Paul, to design our bespoke mandala. The intricate details of our mandala reflect the shapes of palm trees with flowers and drops. Part of the mandala is depicted on our Coconut Flower Beer bottle and the entire mandala is on a colouring in sheet. The complimentary colourable mandala sheet is for you to colour in and meditate with.

The mandala art has been designed to help you focus during meditation. Practise mindfulness by concentrating on colouring this mandala and experience ‘kavanam’ (eyes-open focus meditation). Your colouring process and selection of colours will help you with the next step – ‘Meditation with Mandala’. Share your experience and your coloured mandala art on Instagram or Facebook and tag us @neitiv.uk #neitiv #coconutflowerbeer #cfb4w - and stand a chance of winning £100 worth of Neitiv vouchers!

WHY MANDALAS ARE RELAXING AND CALMING

People who colour mandalas often experience a deep sense of calm and well-being. It's a simple tool that doesn't require any expertise, but it can be remarkably soothing and nourishing. Mandalas not only focus your attention but also allow you to express your creative side, which many of us neglect in our daily lives.

RELISH THE CALM AND EXPERIENCE MINDFULNESS

Mandalas have long been used as tools for meditation, mindfulness and healing. A mandala acts as a visual aid that pulls in human consciousness and energy. The circular design allows the focus to draw inward and outward, creating a meditative and mindful state. Mandalas are a great way to relax and exercise those creative skills.

MEDITATION WITH A MANDALA

Due to the symmetrical shape of the mandala, our attention is immediately directed towards its centre. The design of the mandala absorbs the mind in such a way that chattering thoughts may cease. The effect is to bring a person in harmony with sacred geometry that is found everywhere in nature. Follow these steps to meditate with your coloured mandala:

Step 1: Sit comfortably in front of your mandala.

Step 2: Breathe slowly and deeply, from the diaphragm, while acknowledging your senses: notice anything you can smell, hear or taste; any sensation of hot or cold.

Step 3: Gently gaze at the centre of the mandala and slowly expand your view outwards while focusing on the intricate details of the design and geometry.

Step 4: Concentrate on the image fully and allow its shapes, patterns and colours to work on your subconscious mind. If distracting thoughts arise, let them drift away and gently bring your focus back to the mandala. Relax your eyes so that the image gradually goes out of focus.

Step 5: 5 minutes is a good minimum time to sit with your mandala, but longer is encouraged. When you feel ready, close your eyes and shift your attention elsewhere and enjoy the deep inner equilibrium that remains.

Step 6: When you are ready, slowly bring your attention back to the world around you.

Don’t be discouraged if you’re unable to meditate straight away. Remember the words of Lao Tzu, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step”
